- Ryan: Hey, so we are Ryan Tedder...
- Eddie: and Eddie.
- Ryan: Fisher.
- Eddie: Eddie Fisher.
- Ryan: Did you forget your last name again?
- Eddie: Yeah, I did.
- Ryan: *sigh*
Van Gogh’s Paintings Get Tilt-Shifted by Serena Malyon
Serena Malyon, a 3rd-year student at art school, took some of van Gogh’s most beautiful paintings and altered them in Photoshop to achieved this amazing tilt-shift effect.
I don’t usually like to link different social network content, but this is my exception: I was able to see OneRepublic this week for their concert/album signing for “Native” at Best Buy in Union Square, NYC.
Unfortunately, the line moved incredibly fast, and they didn’t allow photos (probably because it would take too long, as they had to catch a flight to LA), so I was only able to speak with each member for about 5 seconds before being swept to the next one.
The following is the mortifying (on my part) dialogue that took place when each of them signed my album:
Me: Hi Zach!
Zach: Hey! Thank you so much for waiting, sorry we were late.
Me: Of course! I actually waited for you guys in San Francisco too.
Zach: Oh wow, you’re a dedicated fan!
***
Me: Hi Eddie!
Eddie: Hi!
Me: You probably don’t, but do you remember me by any chance? I saw you guys in San Francisco!
Eddie: You know, I actually think I do!
Me: Haha, it’s okay if you don’t.
(I highly doubt he did since SF was two years ago, but amusing nonetheless)
***
Me: Thanks Drew!
Drew: Yeah no problem!
***
Me: Hi Ryan!
Ryan: Hey! Thanks for coming out!
Me: Thank you!
***
Me: Hi Brent!
Brent: Hey!
Me: You’re not bleeding this time!
Brent: I know right?!
Me: Thank you! ……Can I hug you?
Brent: Haha sure
(*backstory: when I saw Brent in SF, he was bleeding, and when I asked him what happened he said he was playing bass too hard. To which I replied, “That’s hardcore.” I know, I was mortifying even back then haha)
So yeah, I think my face is still burning from my own embarrassment, but honestly it was nice to feel all floaty and starstruck. My favorite band came back just in time to pull me out of a seemingly endless depressing winter. Huzzah for “Native”!
